1. Stainless steel surface processing grade

The processing grade of stainless steel surface is usually achieved through different processing processes, mainly including the following:

1. NO.1 (original surface)
Processing process: heat treatment and pickling after hot rolling.
Features: The surface is relatively rough, generally used for thicker materials (2.0MM-8.0MM).
Application: Mainly used for industrial tanks, chemical industrial equipment, etc.
2. NO.2D (blunt surface)
Processing process: heat treatment and pickling after cold rolling.
Features: The material is soft and the surface is silvery white.
Application: Suitable for deep stamping, such as automotive components, water pipes, etc.
3. NO.2B (matte surface)
Processing process: heat treatment, pickling after cold rolling, and then fine rolling.
Features: The surface is smooth, has a moderate brightness, and is easy to re-grind.
Application: Widely used, such as tableware, building materials, etc.
4. NO.3 (coarse sand)
Processing process: Grind with 100-120 grinding belt
Features: It has better glossiness and discontinuous coarse grain.
Application: It is used for building interior and exterior decoration materials, electrical products and  kitchen equipment, etc.
5. NO.4 (fine sand)
Processing process: Grind with abrasive belt with a particle size of 150-180.
Features: It has better glossiness and discontinuous coarse grain, and the stripes are finer than NO.3.
Application: It is used for baths, building interior and exterior decoration materials, electrical products, kitchen equipment and food equipment, etc.
6. #320
Processing process: Grind with abrasive belt with a particle size of 320.
Features: It has better glossiness and discontinuous coarse grain, and the stripes are finer than NO.4.
Application: It is also suitable for baths, building interior and exterior decoration materials, electrical products, kitchen equipment and food equipment, etc.
7. HL (hairy surface)
Processing process: NO.4 is continuously ground with a polishing belt of appropriate particle size to generate a grinding pattern.
Features: There is a grinding pattern on the surface with a semi-matte effect.
Application: Mainly used for architectural decoration, such as elevators, doors and panels of buildings.
8. BA (bright surface)
Processing process: Bright annealing after cold rolling and smoothing.
Features: Excellent surface gloss and high reflectivity, like a mirror surface.
Application: Used for home appliances, mirrors, kitchen equipment, decorative materials, etc.

2. Special surface treatment process

In addition to the common processing grades mentioned above, stainless steel can also obtain different appearances and performances through other special surface treatment processes, such as:

1. Brushing (frosting): Forming straight lines on the surface of stainless steel by mechanical friction to enhance the decorative effect.
2. Mirror treatment: Polishing the surface of stainless steel with polishing and grinding equipment to achieve a bright surface effect, often used in high-end decoration.
3. Titanium plating: Forming an ion film layer of titanium/zirconium compounds on the surface of stainless  steel to improve corrosion resistance and decorativeness.
4. Sandblasting (shot peening): Use compressed air to spray the spray material at high speed onto the surface of stainless steel to form a unique decorative effect.
5. Etching: Forming patterns or text on the surface of stainless steel by chemical etching.

3. Application Overview

Stainless steel is widely used in various industries due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, wear resistance and other properties. Stainless steel plates with different processing grades and surface treatment processes are widely used in architectural decoration, kitchen furniture, chemical equipment, food processing, automobile manufacturing, electronic equipment and other fields according to their unique appearance and performance characteristics. When choosing stainless steel, the appropriate processing grade and surface treatment process should be selected according to specific needs and use environment.
